Milk Supply and Feeding Challenges

Milk Supply and Feeding Challenges - Personalised Support on the Sunshine Coast and Gympie Region

Worrying about whether your baby is getting enough milk - or feeling overwhelmed by too much - is exhausting. Whether your supply feels too low, too high, or you're just not sure, you don't have to figure it out alone. I'm Mikahla from Nurture Infant Feeding, and I'm here to help.

What might you be experiencing?

Milk supply and feeding challenges come in many forms. Here are some of the most common things I help with on the Sunshine Coast:

Low milk supply

Concerns about supply are one of the most common reasons mums stop breastfeeding earlier than they'd like. With the right assessment and support, many mums find their supply is more manageable than they thought — and where it isn't, I have strategies that genuinely help.

Oversupply and forceful letdown

Too much milk can be just as difficult as too little. A forceful letdown can leave your baby gagging, gulping or unsettled at the breast. Oversupply can lead to engorgement, mastitis and milk blebs. There are simple, effective ways I can help you bring supply into balance.

Mixed feeding concerns

Navigating both breast and bottle feeding can feel complicated. I can help you find an approach that works for your family — whether that means gradually increasing breastfeeding, maintaining a combination, or supporting a smooth transition.

Expressing and flange fitting

Using a pump efficiently starts with the right fit. An incorrectly sized flange can affect both comfort and output. I'll make sure your expressing setup is working as well as it possibly can for you.
