Complex and Medical Baby Feeding Needs- Specialist Support on the Sunshine Coast and Gympie Region

When your baby has complex or medical needs, feeding can feel like one of the most daunting parts of an already overwhelming time. I want you to know that specialised, compassionate support is available- and that with the right guidance, safe and sustainable feeding is absolutely achievable for your family.

Who do I work with?

I have experience supporting families across the Sunshine Coast and Gympie region through a range of complex and medically involved feeding situations, including:

Premature babies

Premature babies often need extra time and support to develop the strength and coordination required for feeding. I work gently and patiently with you and your baby to establish feeding in a way that suits their stage of development- whether that's at the breast, by bottle, or through expressed milk.

Cleft lip or palate and oral differences

Feeding a baby with a cleft palate or other oral differences requires specialist knowledge. My background in speech pathology and oral motor function means I understand the mechanics of feeding at a clinical level and can help you find the safest, most effective approach for your baby.

Tube feeding and breastmilk

If your baby requires tube feeding, I can support you in establishing and maintaining your milk supply and working towards the feeding goals that are right for your family - whether that's moving toward breast or bottle feeding over time, or sustaining tube feeding with expressed breastmilk.

Feeding Babies recovering from cardiac surgery or chronic neonatal lung disease comes with its own unique challenges around energy, endurance and safe swallowing. I work alongside your medical team to support feeding in a way that is safe and sustainable for your baby's recovery.

Why come to me?

As an IBCLC lactation consultant and feeding specialist with a background in speech pathology and oral motor function, I bring a level of clinical depth that goes beyond a standard consult.

In-home visits across the Sunshine Coast and Gympie region — you don't need to go anywhere.

A full week of SMS and email follow-up after every visit, so support doesn't stop when I leave.

Appointments of 2 to 2.5 hours — enough time to actually solve the problem.

Specialist knowledge of oral motor function and swallowing — helpful when latch issues run deeper.

If your baby has complex or medical feeding needs, please don't hesitate to reach out.

I offer specialist in-home consultations across the Sunshine Coast and Gympie region - with the clinical expertise, the time, and the follow-up support to genuinely make a difference for your family.
